Bangalore-based Police Inspector Amar, a reformed juvenile, convicted for knifing a male, is approached by Mumbai's Police Commissioner Vinod Talwar, and assigned the task of locating the killer(s) of a businessman, Khanna. Amar soon finds out that the culprit is none other than his childhood friend, Raja Lokhande. His attempts to reform Raja will be ridiculed, his life will be endangered and out of control when he will be given an ultimatum to arrange an 'encounter' killing of not only Raja, but also his other childhood buddies, Surya, whose sister, Pooja, is his childhood sweetheart; and Jaggu, Raja's brother - while the underworld, led by Lala Roshanlal, asks him to prove himself by killing a Police Inspector attached to Naigaon Police Station.

Copy of STATE OF GRACE

Mahesh Bhatt has made a career copying films though he made many good films especially in 1980's

ANGAAREY was a copy of STATE OF GRACE and in fact was remade by Vikram Bhatt as FOOTPATH in 2003 with Aftab, Emraan and Rahul Dev

The movie has a decent story although similar to AUZAAR(1997) the movie is well handled though it drags and too much violence, songs spoils the show

Another problem is Gulshan Grover's character which could be better and also the clichéd end

There are several good scenes between Akshay and Nagarjuna Also the other character's death is well handled

Direction by Mahesh Bhatt is decent Music is good, Tanha Tanha being the best

Amongst actors Those days Akki was going through a bad phase with most films bombing and also his acting was horrible In this film he puts a sincere effort and does a good job though his voice modulation could be better at times Yet a good performance though his hairstyle keeps changing from short hair to long hair Nagarjuna is decent, Pooja Bhatt overdoes as usual but looks fab Sonali is okay Paresh Rawal excels Gulshan Grover irritates
